Nowdays, learning chinese is very popular in Indonesia, because students realize the important of chinese language in the world. Chinese is the second language after English, therefore the students of Indonesia concern about the development of learning chinese, but Indonesian student have difficulty and errors in using the synonym in chinese language it self. Based on the background above, the author formulated some problems for the study, the errors which were often done by Indonesian students of Chongqing Normal University in using appropriate chinese synonym as well as to overcome the mistakes. This research aims to identify the forms of errors and determine the proper way to address the problems of those mistakes. The author used qualitative method. After doing this research, the author realized that there were some students who made mistakes in using Chinese synonym. Therefore, the author writes some suggestions also for teaching the using of Chinese synonym which can help students in using the proper synonym. The author hopes that the teachers and students are able to give more attention in teaching and learning, as well as master the use of the Chinese synonym properly.
