Young Bastian (Mandarin Language Teaching)
Mandarin language is one of the compulsory subjects in YPPI-1 Junior High School Surabaya. The purpose of this research is to examinc the results of the application of drill method and group work method, as well as to know the students response of the drill method and group work method in learning reading skill of Mandarin language in the school.
In this reserch the reasearch used quantitaif and qualitatif methods. The research used evaluation test,interview , close interview and obsevasion as the instrument of the research.
As the result of study, the students show positive responses to the drill and grop work methods. And from the evaluation test, 85,71% of the students are to reach the standard competency
