Penggunaan metode permainan ular tangga dalam pembelajaran Hanzi pada siswa kelas VIII E SMPK Stella Maris Surabaya


ABSTRACT

Mandarin is one of the international language that is now starting to be introduced in schools, as well as schools in Indonesia. The author makes this thesis in order to determine the results and also the impact of the Chinese learning by using game, especially the use of snakes and ladders.
Game method is a method suitable to be used in learning especially in learning Chinese “Hanzi”. By using games, students may be more interested in learning, and more relaxe and happy in joining the lesson, in addition the students can also play while learning or learning while playing. To assess the results of the application of this method, the authors apply these methods in the process of learning Chinese for the material in chapter 10 graders VIIIE SMPK Stella Maris Surabaya.
The writer employs both qualitative and quantitative research methods to determine the results of the evaluation of student learning using the game. Through the evaluation results in this study, it can be seen that the application of such methods, as well as snakes and ladders game is able to provide positive results for learning Chinese, especially for learning hanzi in class VIIIE SMPK Stella Maris Surabaya.
It can be seen from the comparison of their evaluation of the value before and after using a game method, ie, of 29.4% students were able to achieve mastery value to 88.2% of students were able to achieve the completeness and the greatest impact is known after using a game method this is given to the students' motivation is rapidly increasing due to the emergence of more interest and enthusiasm that trigger students to want to learn.
