Pembelajaran karakter Bahasa Mandarin bagi pelajar Indonesia yang belajar Bahasa Mandarin di Chongqing

Along with the rapid development of the world, Chinese is increasingly engaged in the International communication. Within the last 10 years, Chinese is one of the foreign languages which are accepted and warmly welcomed in Indonesian society other than English.
In the process of learning the Chinese languages, conversation is the most ultimate method which used by Indonesian student while the writing technique is not really considered. They believe that the Chinese characters are highly difficult to learn and as the result of it, they frequently encounter some difficulty in recalling the characters. This reseach is aimed at determining the mistakes, the cause of the occurrence of such errors as well as the application of the mastery in the Chinese characters of Indonesian students who study Chinese in Chongqing.
The sample of this research is limited to 60 Iandonesian students who have been studied Chinese in Chongqing (Chongqing Normal University, Chongqing Medical University , Sichuan International Studies University) for about 1 to 6 years. Data collection method used in this study is questionnaire.
The result shows that the time length for the students who learn about Chinese doesn’t have a significant impact on the mistakes they made while recalling the Chinese characters. Understanding of strokes, sequences of strokes and the development of the Chinese character can help to reduce the mistakes in recalling the Chinese character.
